Frequently Asked Questions - Christmas in August
1.Q: This is my first time participating in a pageant. Do I have a chance at winning some of the top titles?
ANSWER: ABSOLUTELY! Judges are looking for a beautiful face, confidence, smile, and personality. YOU have all of that!
2. Q: Do I have to stay at the hotel?
ANSWER: No. Some people live close enough that they have no need to stay at the hotel. While it may be convenient to reserve a room we do provide a changing room for those not staying at the hotel. (Please be advised that no men are allowed in the changing room at any time. No exceptions.)
3. Q: Is this natural or glitz?
ANSWER: Christmas in August is a face/natural pageant. Some titles are awarded solely on the basis of facial beauty scores. Attire guidelines are outlined on the official paperwork which can be found here. Judges are not looking for the most expensive outfit. They are scoring overall appearance based on the color, fit, and style choice. Think to yourself, "Does this outfit flatter me? "Does the color of this dress go well with my complexion? Does it need to be hemmed or altered so that it fits properly? Can I walk in these shoes?" Hair and makeup guidelines for all events at Christmas in August are as follows: 0-8 years old are allowed to wear mascara, clear lip gloss, light powder or foundation. 9-24 years old are allowed to wear mascara, clear or natural shade of lipgloss, light blush, light powder or foundation, light eyeshadow.

8. Q: Why are deposits non-refundable?
ANSWER: Our staff works hard to insure that every contestant receives exactly what we promise as far as prizes and a quality production.
